AnnaSophia Robb, who plays Carrie on the show, noted that she still wears scrunchies even though she knows that they are pretty much banned – and very much '80s.

Ellen Wong who plays Carrie's best friend Mouse on the show, said that when asked who her favorite character on "Sex and the City" is, she feels torn. "I feel like throughout the whole series you can always find a little bit of yourself in every one of them, and you can relate to them, and I think that's why the series was so popular and so good, and I'm hoping that people are going to be able to relate to all the characters on this show too."

Stefania Owen, who plays Doritt (Carrie's sister on "The Carrie Diaries") loves being able to portray the sisterly relationship between the two girls on the show. Owen added that she is the "emo" of the show, so she has dark makeup to play the part. "I have naturally curly hair but they do a bit more curling. Maybe I might have like a blue streak and a pink streak also while the show goes on," she said.

When asked whether or not the younger generation of girls would be able to spot all of the '80s trends, Author and Executive Producer Candace Bushnell said, "You know, it's so interesting. I went to a Bar Mitzvah this summer and all of the girls I actually took pictures of looked like they were wearing '80s kind of dresses. It all comes back, or it never leaves." She also added that both the new Carrie and the old Carrie will have a quirky, curious, yet vulnerable personality.

Austin Butler (current boyfriend of actress Vanessa Hudgens) plays the bad boy and love interest of AnnaSophia Robb.

Brendan Dooling plays Walt Reynolds, Carrie's best friend – a stylish dresser and loyal BFF.

Freema Agyeman plays Larissa, a fashion editor in the big city, which we all know is Carrie's first true love.

Last night we had the privilege of going to the opening night of the New York Television Festival, where the world premiere of “The Carrie Diaries” debuted. The new CW Network show has caused an awful lot of hype, considering the show is aiming to take on the storyline of Carrie Bradshaw’s life before she met the rest of the iconic quartet that made up the legendary show “Sex and the City.”

While the young cast of all-stars (including AnnaSophia Robb and Austin Butler) may not have been alive to watch the original Carrie Bradshaw in “SATC,” they certainly know what influence her character (and the cast as a whole) has had on numerous generations. The cast chatted with us about taking on ’80s beauty trends in the show as well as what characters influenced them the most from “Sex and the City.”
