Learn How to Do This Fun, Messy Ponytail

Posted by October 04, 2011 4:52 pm
Step 1: Tease your hair and pull it into a high ponytail (Krista used Sam Brocato Carve Texture Icing to prep).
Step 2: Pull out two pieces from the ponytail and tightly twist in the same direction around each other.
Step 3: Wrap the hair twist around your ponytail holder and pin it in.
Step 4: Lightly spritz hair with beach spray and tease up the ponytail.
Step 5: It's supposed to look fun and messy, so let it be!

I know we’ve said it time and time again, but the ponytail is no longer just for the gym. We’re now using this dirty-hair hair style for clean strands too — can you believe it? Whether you want to style your pony to look preppy, sporty or chic the one thing we know for sure is there are numerous ways to dress it up.

Krista Amira Calvo from Sam Brocato salon shows us above how to get a fun, teased pony with a touch of a ’60s, retro look.

forgive me if I’m wrong, but I think the order of this slideshow has been reversed? Slide 1 has Step 5’s caption on it, Slide 2 has Step 4, and vice versa.

  2. Rachel says:

Thanks for bringing that to my attention Thea – it seems as if the slides just went into reverse order. Fixed now :)
